Greeting Message

Greetings in Christ! Welcome to the Sun Valley Church website!

We appreciate you taking the time to visit our church site in an effort to get to know our church.

If I could just capture your attention for just a moment or two and allow me to share with you a simple thought entitled, "I Want to Go to Church"

You go to church to be changed, you don’t go to church so that you can stay the same.

For a scholar to deprive himself of his studies and classroom time would deplete his wisdom resulting in an average educated individual. To deprive a Christian of their daily studies (devotional time) and their church time would deplete their Spiritual life resulting in the loss of an in-depth relationship and knowledge of God their Creator.

To educate oneself consistently is a good thing, but to self educated solely limits the level of knowledge and abilities one can obtain, thus stifling your potential. That is why a person who desires to pursue a career of any kind can not only obtain an understanding of that field on their own, but they pursue the FURTHERING of their education/knowledge by attending a University or taking special classes.

The very same concept applies to the Christian life. You can stay home and self educate, you can stay home and pray and read the Bible faithfully (which are actions I highly encourage), HOWEVER, if you desire to pursue an in-depth relationship, obtain knowledge, and pursue avenues of opportunities with eternal potential THEN one MUST further themselves (outside of their own) - church attendance.

Church is like the University to a person pursuing a secular education. Church is the Christian University, a sacred place where God can mold a person in such away that he CAN NOT do at home. Home church limits God because God knows that with in our humanity we are limited that is why He gives us resources such as the Church, a Pastor, Bible Studies, and godly fellowship.

Have you ever met a person who has immense potential but they waist it on other frivolous junctures . It is super frustrating to watch because YOU SEE so much promises with in them, if only they’d just apply themselves! I feel the same concept applies to us as Christians. God sees with in each of us immense potential, but often times we decline the opportunity to apply ourselves. How frustrating this must be! God sees potential in us and desires to use us beyond our comprehension, but we ignore our own potential and waist it on other avenues of self interest with really no thought of eternal value. Once again, to attend church is to enhance ones self.

I like this quote, “To be stagnant is to limit ones ability to enhance.” So why not go to church, learn all that you possibly can. There is no exhausting the infinite knowledge of God. Does not a son desire to be where his father is? Does not a Christian desire to be where God is? Think About it.

Psalms 122:1, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

Psalms 73:17, “Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I...”

Hebrews 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together...”

"...Take me back to the place that feels like home, to the people I can depend on, to the faith that's in my bones. Take me back, to a preacher and a verse, where they've seen me at my worst, to the love I had at first....Oh, I want to go to church..." -Lyrics by Cochran & Co

"Food" for your thought life...
"...whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
