Philippians 4:9, “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
What do you think of when you think of quality? The things that come to my mind are: well made, top of the line product, basically good old fashion quality. Or if a product is in error I think of quality in the form of the Customer Service I receive, to make up for the product I purchased that ended up being faulty. After all, things are man made so perfection will not always be there. However, the Customer Service given when error or fault is found is where I place my definition of High Quality. A company who knows they make an excellent product, but they are not above admitting to or allowing for the possibility of man made error that is not intentional, just a fact, that is quality. We are not perfect.
I do like quality.
Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”
Let me ask you this then. If we expect QUALITY in the things we buy, the services we receive etc...then where is the quality in our Christianity? Are you a Quality Christian?
When I say Quality Christian are you everything the Word of God says you should be - the description. When you purchase a product (be it in store or on line) you read the description of that product. If you order on line and that product/item gets delivered and it does NOT match the description given, you get disappointed, possibly even a tad miffed because you spent good money on something you were told was one thing but then you finally get it and it isn’t that description. How disappointing! Or you bring an item home from the store and it doesn’t work like the description says it will, you take it back! Why, because you want what was told you in the description and what you spent your money on! Am I not right? I know—I’m sure that way.
So, then taking that same logic and applying it to Christians today, should we not be what the Bible says we are? Should we not be quality? The Bible does tell us that we are examples of who God is. Being a Christian, the very definition is to be Christ-like. You may be the only Bible people will ever read. Think about it.
So, when we come into contact with others, are WE who we say we are, a Quality Christian? It’s easy to say, “I’m a Christian”. The whole world is walking around with people claiming the title “Christian”, but where is the quality?
Let me give you perspective.
You know, some companies will even try to make replicas of what real, genuine, QUALITY items are. But it’s NOT the real thing, not even near the same quality. You know what that’s called, a rip-off! When you get ripped off, you get upset about it! Even a tad hurt, maybe even loose some good money over it because you believed the advertisement and the description. Am I not right? I know I sure would, hands down!
I’m gonna cut it thin. Are you a “rip-off” kinda Christian? Are you a replica of what the Quality Christian should be—just not committed to it.
So when a hurting person, a destroyed family, a dying individual, a haunted past driven person, a suicidal individual, an emotionally tore person, a family falling apart etc...comes to YOU the “replica Christian” are you going be a rip-off of the quality that they are seeking so desperately for? Think About it? This is eternal...It’s sobering! You can not give to another what you, yourself, do not have. That’s a fact.
Quality is not an act, it is a HABIT. So living a godly, holy Christian life are all qualities that makes up quality. Are these habits for your daily life? I like this quote, “Quality is more than a promise, it is genuine performance.” I Timothy 4:12, “... but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
Luke 6:46, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
I’m a stickler on quality, especially in Customer Service because I have worked in Customer Service for a good amount of years in the past. Giving quality even on a bad day, this was expected, no questions. We were the face of the business/company so Customers Service was held to a standard and that was quality. However, quality does NOT mean perfection, quality is making right what was done wrong and doing it with genuineness, that is quality. Quality strives to be the best of the best, but knows humanity is fallen thus error is inevitable (I’m not perfect by far) but the quality is found in how YOU make things right.
Are you a Quality Christian? In word, deeds, actions, conversations, lifestyle etc...Are you what the Bible says you should be? Can a non Christian depend on you to be the real deal, quality? Act 13:37, “For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], I have set thee to be a light to the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.”
You read those sayings on shirts or even titles of books, “Be real in a world full of fakes”. I say, “Be Quality in a world full of fakes”.
